Costa Rica Hot springs

(Almost) anywhere you find a volcano you're sure to find a hot springs. There are 40+ hot springs open to the public or only for hotel guests.

The Tabacón River originates in Arenal volcano, coming to the surface in several places. A dozen commercial pools use the hot spring water to provide entertainment for tourists. The most famous of these is the Tabacón Resort and Baldí's. One smaller option is highly appreciated by Volare's guests - less crowded, less noise, good drinks and snacks.

Volare is reluctant to suggest hotels around the base of the volcano because of crowds. Our preferred lodging, about 15 miles to the east, is located central to our private adventures like horses, ballooning, tree climbing and nature adventures. However, only near Fortuna can we offer 5-star accommodations.

Mud baths at select hot springs spasOther less famous springs are near Cartago (Irazú Volcano), Rincón de La Vieja Volcano, and Miravalles Volcano. Many hot springs are related to health spas like El Tucano on Platanar Volcano, Perla in Orosí, or Borinquen Resort on Rincón de la Vieja volcano, with mud baths, massage, yoga.

It's time to call us.
